Howdy, again... finally.... okay... so things hit a snag last year... many
personal and odd
circumstances and all that jazz.... The album has basically been scrapped
for wide release.
Skitz is fine tuning the new band : Brandon Perdue (THICK, Luke Holder, Werewolf
Patrol,
the Hats) on drums, Justin Hedgcoth (Lonesome Goat, the Schraags, OSM, Dynamite
Lazerbeam,
Donk!, Luke Holder) on Bass and Werewolf Josh (Werewolf Patrol) on keys and
second drum
kit. Skitz is searching for a solid horn section and some female back-up singers
to complete the
newest incarnation... New songs will soon be available. Check-out the new SNOCAP
store in
the "media" section. Just click on the cop car in the menu. If yer in Whiskyrilla,
TX on a Tuesday
head on down to the Golden Light Cantina where Skitz is trading Tuesdays with
a stellar new
band called Dynamite Lazerbeam (members of Lonesome Goat, the Schraags, Sunday
Night
Midnite,
BSATBAAGB, the Groobies). Quoting Skitz: "Dynamite Lazerbeam has both the guitarists
(Ryan
Corpening and Gary Thomason) I wanted for my
band, dammit! I guess I'll go find some
horn players..." Head over to the GLC on any Tuesday to see one of two really
cool acts that
are trying to get their act together....
Howdy. For the last two years (roughly) Skitz has been working on his first
solo release.
Many of the songs are done; many are not. Of possible interest: Hanna will appear as an acoustic
version (inspired by "Pantsfiddler" Shafter) featuring Moses Morin on accordian. Bo
Salling gives a
backing vocal performance on She's Yer Everthang. Members of
Bo's band, the Brakes
Are All
Gone Band appear on several tracks. An unreleased THICK track called Nazi
Taco will
be
included,
Mick Feely and
Rasputin Jones on bass and drums respectivley. Many people have contributed
backing vocal tracks for Whiskeyrilla, including Dave Regal and Justin
Hedgecoth from
Lonesome Goat.
There will
be a couple of covers
on the release
including a the
Joe Henry songTopless Shoeshine
with Brian Wilson
(the Live
Texas Mosquitos)
on lead guitar. The other cover
is a song called
Things You Love by
Luke Holder,
who performs on and co-produces the track.
The working
title
of this collection: Danger is My
Middle Finger.
All of the tracks are
engineered and
mixed by
Drew Holder
at the infamous AMP Recording
Studio,
Whiskeyrilla, TX.
